I decided to be an insurance agent for a career, and I am regretting every minute of it. I have been in class for a total of 3 months, and now wished I could get out. The only reason I am staying in this is because I have spent already enough money on this class.

Today we are learning about whole life insurance and let me tell you, I need a tape recorder to absorb all of this information. I was thinking about taking this course online where I could do it from home, but after I started looking over the course, decided to enroll in a real classroom for it.

I never knew there was so much to learn about whole life insurance. I know when listening to my parents talking to their agent, I often wondered what was the difference between term life insurance and whole life insurance was. After getting into this course, I am finding out. From my understanding of what I am reading it is saying that whole life insurance covers you for life, and they offer fixed premiums.

I often wondered why insurance agents would always give quotes on any kind of insurance. Now since I am studying to be one, I know the reason for all the quotes. You have different insurance for different things. You have whole life insurance, term life insurance, non-participating whole life insurance and also participating whole life insurance. Another to look at is level premium whole life insurance and limited payment whole life insurance.

As with anything else you have pros and cons on whole life insurance. I do remember reading one of the pros is the that a policy may build up cash value, and that means it grows tax deferred, and one of the cons is it would have higher premiums than term life insurance.

You can see, I am learning a little bit in this class that I am taking. It is a lot of information to remember, but I was told after taking the class and passing the final test to become an agent, you do get a book and it is best if you referred to it every chance you get. It would be like a Bible to you when referring to insurance.

I still have about 3 months of class, and just hopefully when I am done with this class, I will know everything there is about insurance, whether it be whole life insurance, term insurance, or car insurance, but I will know what I am talking about after the course is completed.
